'Care Navigation' for our patients
A new signposting process called ‘Care Navigation’ is being introduced in our practice to help you see the right person, in order to get the right care, in the most appropriate place and first time.
When you next phone for an appointment to see your GP, you may be invited to share details of why you think you need to see a GP.
Please be assured that you do not have to share this information if you would prefer not to. It simply helps the practice to better understand your needs and make sure you are seeing the most appropriate professional for your care or treatment.
All our staff take patient confidentiality extremely seriously, therefore any information you share will not be shared with anyone else.
If you do not wish to give this information, you will not be denied an appointment with your GP.
If you have any concerns, please speak to a member of practice staff.
These services are not within the NHS contract and therefore attract a charge:

Please note that we do not offer travel consultations here at the practice as this is not an NHS service. You will need to access a private travel clinic who will carry out a risk asessment to see which, if any, vaccinations you will need. Some may be available on the NHS.
Please visit www.nhs.uk/conditions/travel-vaccinations/ for more information. To find a local travel clinic, you can search the internet for "travel clinic".
You will need to contact a private travel clinic or pharmacy offering travel services at least 8 weeks before you travel, as some vaccines need to be given well in advance to allow your body to develop immunity. Some vaccines also involve a number of doses spread over several weeks or months.
You may be more at risk of some diseases, if you are, for example:
- travelling in rural areas
- staying in hostels or camping
- on a long trip rather than a package holiday
