Appointments

We provide a fully triaged GP clinic 08.30-10.00 Monday-Friday to allow you to speak to, or see, a nurse or Doctor. All patients who wish to see a doctor or a nurse must first speak to a clinician by telephone to be triaged. If the clinician feels like they need to see you face-to-face, they will arrange that with you directly. Please call betwen 8:30-10am Monday to Firday to speak to a clinician during the morning surgery.

To allow patients to see a Doctor of their choice, consultations with Doctors and Nurses on an afternoon / evening are all by pre-booked appointment. Each routine appointment is for 10 minutes and for a single patient. If you have more than two problems or feel you need more time please book a double appointment. This allows us to address your concerns appropriately and to remain punctual. We would request that you arrive on time for your appointment to prevent us having to rush your consultation. If you arrive late for your appointment we may ask you to wait or rebook.

Emergencies

If you feel your problem is urgent we will arrange for a telephone consultation with our duty doctor who will arrange to see you the same day if required.

Telephone Advice

Our doctors are available for advice and telephone consultations at the end of morning surgery. Please ring before 10am and our receptionist will pass your details to a doctor who will call you back.

Home Visits

We reserve home visits for patients whose medical condition prevents them from being able to come to the surgery. If you feel you need a visit please ring the surgery before 10am and our Doctors will call you back at the end of surgery to discuss your request and decide if and when a visit is needed.

Several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. We also have the benefit of your medical records, facilities and other members of the practice team at the surgery. So please help us to help you and our other patients by visiting the surgery whenever possible.

We cannot undertake home visits for reasons of convenience or lack of transport. We will be happy to provide you with details of local taxi firms and the Hambleton and Richmondshire Community Car Scheme. You may also find the following link of use: http://www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/visit-the-dales/essential-information/travel. From experience, we are aware that relatives, neighbours or friends are often willing to help out.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to allocate the slot to another patient.
