Today is Sat, 27th Jul, 2024 | The Surgery is Closed.

Welcome to Doctors Lane Surgery

Please note that we are closed for essential training on the 31st July between 12noon and 2pm. If you need a doctor during this time, please call 0300 123 3112.

Please be reminded that ALL patients who wish to see a doctor must first speak to a clinician by telephone to be triaged. If the clinician feels that you need to be seen face-to-face, they will arrange that with you directly. As such, we no longer operate a 'Walk-in' surgery, but ask you to contact us via telephone first.

Please note that we only accept telephone orders for medication between 2pm and 4pm each day.

National Patient Survey - Excellent results for our surgery

The GP Patient Survey is an independent survey run by Ipsos on behalf of NHS England. The survey is sent out to over two million people registered with GP practices in England. The results show how people feel about their GP practice. Doctors Lane Surgery always does very well in this survey, and significantly outperforms both local and national averages. Click here to see the survey. Some headline results from those surveyed are that: 95% of patients find it easy to get through to us on the phone, 100% of patients find reception staff helpful, and 99% of patients had confidence and trust in the clinical they last saw, or spoke to.

Accessing your GP-held records via the NHS app or NHS website

As your GP practice, we have been asked by NHS England to provide you with access to your full medical record via the NHS app (and NHS website) if you have a suitable NHS login, from 31 October 2023. As a practice we have decided to ask your permission first, as this gives us a chance to check your understanding, and be sure access to your data is safe for you. We are aware that not everyone will want access to their full record on the internet at this time, and some patients may have concerns about their personal medical records being made available on their smartphones or online, especially if other people have access to their devices. If you already have this level of access, you will still have this. If you don’t have this level of access, but would like it, please contact the surgery, and we are happy to discuss this with you, and to provide this. Please visit this page for further information.

Online Consultations

Consult a Doctor, nurse or other member of the practice team online. Please note that Online Consultations are only for routine, non-urgent queries. We will respond to you within two working days. If you have a concern that needs addressing the same day, or more urgently, please call the practice. Click here to try it.

Better access - More appointments available.

More routine primary care appointments are available to people living in our area. Patients registered at GP practices in Richmondshire can pre-book a routine primary care appointment between 6:30pm and 8pm weekdays and between 8:30am and noon on Saturdays. Please note this is not a walk-in service – speak to a member of the practice team for more information or to book an appointment.
