Our practice is able to offer you the following services:

  • Anticoagulation / Warfarin Monitoring
  • Blood pressure checks - 24 hr monitoring and use of telemetry
  • Cervical Smear by appointment
  • Chronic health checks ( Asthma, Heart disease, Diabetes) by appointment
  • Ear Irrigation
  • Well Woman / Man checks
  • Weight loss/diet advice
  • Wound Care
  • Minor injuries for registered patients (cuts and grazes)
  • Minor surgery including injection therapy
  • Long Term Contraception (excluding coil fitting)
Travel Services

We offer comprehensive travel consultations here at the practice, however, some vaccines may not be available on the NHS (listed on the website below). You can find out which vaccinations are necessary or recommended for the areas you'll be visiting by visiting this website:

You will need to contact us AT LEAST 8 weeks before you travel, as some vaccines need to be given well in advance to allow your body to develop immunity. Some vaccines also involve a number of doses spread over several weeks or months.

You will be asked to complete a pre-assessment form, which you can download below. You MUST bring this completed for with you to the appointment. If you do not bring the form, we cannot proceed with the appointment. Please also see our downloadable Travel Advice leaflet.

Mental Health Support

We know that lots of people are finding things tough at the moment. There are a few options for support, the first of which is our First Contact Mental Health practitioner, who can help you to find out what support is available to you - fast. Please speak to our reception team, who can book you an appointment.

You can contact our local service, you can self-refer here, or please see the doctor so we can arrange to refer you to our local service. There are also a range of online education courses and resources for people who might be struggling with mental health issues here, at Recovery College.

Child Health

6-8 week baby checks are performed by the Doctor and include your babies first immunisations, which will be carried out by a nurse. You may wish to have your maternal postnatal examination before or after this check. Please speak to a member of our reception team to book these appointments. All other childhood immunisations are by appointment with the practice nurse.

Contraceptive and Sexual Health Service

We are able to offer confidential advice on a full range of contraceptive options. All Doctors, Sister Darkings and Sister Syddall are able to discuss barrier, oral and injectable contraceptives. For the contraceptive implant and coils speak to a member of our reception team who will arrange this for you. We also offer investigation and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases.

Smoking Cessation

It is never too late to quit. If you would like help to stop smoking, please contact the LivingWell team at North Yorkshire Countil Council.

'Care Navigation' for our patients

We aim to help you to see the right person, for the right care, the first time.

When you next phone for an appointment, you will be invited to share details of why you think you need to see a Doctor.

Please be assured that you do not have to share this information if you would prefer not to. It simply helps the practice to better understand your needs, and to make sure you are seeing the most appropriate professional for your care or treatment.

All our staff take patient confidentiality extremely seriously, therefore any information you share will not be shared with anyone else.

If you do not wish to give this information, you will not be denied an appointment with your GP.

If you have any concerns, please speak to a member of practice staff.

Non-NHS Services

These services are not within the NHS contract and therefore attract a charge:

  • Medicals for employment, sports and driving
  • Insurance Claim forms
  • Passport signing
  • Prescriptions/ letters for taking medications abroad
  • Private sick notes
  • Vaccination Certificates

Please contact our reception staff to discuss arranging these services and our charge.
